CMEF(Full name: China International Medical Device Expo) was founded in 1979, After more than 40 years, the exhibition has now developed into the Asia-Pacific region set medical device industry chain, set product technology, new product launch, procurement, brand communication, scientific research cooperation, academic forums, education and training as one of the medical device Expo, designed to help the healthy and rapid development of the medical device industry. CMEF holds two sessions each year, and over the years, CMEF has attracted more than 30 countries and regions with more than 7000 manufacturers, 600 opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, as well as 200,000 visitors from more than 110 countries and regions around the world
The 85th China International Medical Devices (Fall) Expo (CMEF 2021is held on October 13-16, 2021 at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center (Bao’an District), and the conference will continue to uphold the vision of “Analytic Science for the Future”, with academic presentations, forums and instrument exhibitions on the theme of “Life, Life, Ecology – Facing a Green Future”.
DAY 1: On the first day of the exhibition, although Typhoon “Round RuleKompasu!!” made landfall in Shenzhen, , but that failed to stop the footsteps of medical device crowd Participants lined up early. The covid-19 pandemic situation in China strictly controlled, we abide by orders, in accordance with the requirements of consciously wearing masks, with various contact tracing tools such as the epidemic prevention code, travel code, temperature measurement, security after entering the venue.
Although it was ten o’clock in the morning, it was already visible that the crowd was moving, ready and standby at the stands and aisles.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 outbreak reasons, potential participants whom should have been to the exhibition of the audience around the world, can only meet online. The scene at the moment is more like an exhibition for domestic audiences, with few international faces. Nevertheless, missions from various countries organize local representative medical device companies to come to China to recommend products.
The CMEF is divided into 9 pavilions, according to medical services, imaging, medical electronic equipment, medical optics, medical supplies, orthopedics, simulation medicine, emergency rescue, disinfection control, hospital construction and logistics management, intelligent health, operating room, in vitro diagnosis, international exhibitors, provincial and municipal exhibition groups and other regional divisions, thousands of exhibitors, covering almost all product lines.

DAY 2: On the 2nd day of CMEF, the weather was looking really good and the enthusiasm of the audience continued.
At the exhibition, the organizers set up a special area at the entrance to introduce the layout of the exhibition as well as the planning of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Relying on the sustained development of China’s economy and the location advantages of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Centre will develop into one of the world’s leading exhibition venues.
This CMEF, in addition to Western medical-based equipment, we can also see the continuous development of Chinese medicine Medical devices, such as the diagnosis method of the four diagnostic instruments based on the theory of Chinese medicine, as well as Chinese medicine physical identification instruments, etc. Due to the spread of chronic diseases in today’s society, there is a saying in the Chinese “治未病” and translating it directly to English it means “Treat the disease before it arises” is expected to spread widely.
Also held at the same time in CMEF is the China Hospital Construction Conference (CHCC), we can see artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, internet of things, 5G, digital twins, internet healthcare and other intelligent technology development and popularization. China’s clinical diagnosis and treatment, to a large extent has entered the “intelligent era”.
The exhibition’s enthusiasm is filled to the brim. However, there was to sign of relax to control the spread of Covid-19. Booth was set up at every entrance of the exhibition providing free ART test and to ensure that everyone, including the exhibitors and audiences produced their ART test (within 48 hours) result before they are allowed to enter the exhibition hall.
This CMEF also provides a live conference and picture live window, as well as an online business consultation window for audiences that are not able to come down to the exhibition themselves to participate it via online. At the same time, organizers will select the product and company that are receiving the most attention daily and showcase it to everyone at the exhibition.

DAY 3: The 3rd day of 85th CMEF
Today, we will be focusing on Hall 9, Hall 10, Hall 11 and Hall 12 for Medical Optics, Medical Consumables, Orthopedics, Intelligent Health Devices, International Zone, Imaging, Medical Electronics etc.
We will visit some booths and see what’s new there.
In the International Zone, we can see companies from Germany, Japan and USA as they bring the newest medical technology into China.
During the fair, many events are held in conference hall. In Shenzhen-Guangzhou Region High-End Medical Innovation Development Forum, the forum host is giving an introduction speech of the current status of the med-tech development in the local area.
In the exhibition hall, we can see exhibitor booths filled with distributors and wholesalers from all over China, looking for new products. Basically, we can meet all the Chinese medical device manufacturers and different kinds of medical devices at the fair.

DAY 4: The 4th day of 85th CMEF
On the last day of CMEF, we toured Hall 13, 14, 15 and 16 to visit zones of Emergency Rescue & Safe Devices, Sterilization & Infection Control, Hospital Construction & Logistics Management, IVD, Provincial Pavilions, etc.
CMEF is also a preferred stage for companies to launch new products.
Last day of CMEF only lasted for half a day as exhibitors started leaving in the afternoon. Four days was surely not enough for such a big event.
