The Medical Fair Asia 2024 (MFA 2024) provided a snapshot of the latest technologies and trends in medical devices, not only from the Asia pacific region, but from regions such as Germany, Austria and Canada as well. It was a gathering point for founders, doctors, distributors, service providers (such as Access-2-Healthcare), and other healthcare stakeholders to exchange ideas on how to best support one another through the medical device lifecycle, to increase the efficiency of bringing innovative solutions to more patients across territories.
Over the three days, it was heartening to re-connect with familiar faces we had kept in contact with over the years, as well as to make new friends by interacting with founders whose solutions we found intriguing. Although the MFA was perhaps smaller in scale as compared to other tradeshows globally, turning the same corner on a different day often brought new surprises, as we were speaking to exhibitors even up to the last day.
The country pavilions exhibiting at the MFA represented a springboard for their promising startups to break into Asia, leveraging on the MFA to build networks, and to gather valuable insights of the Asia market.
Our friends at Telea Medical were in town to explain how the QMR technology in Q-Physio works. Being innovators in the musculoskeletal regeneration space, they had caught much attention of local stakeholders who had not seen similar technology before. We will be happy to provide further information here.
All in all, MFA 2024 provided a fruitful experience, which perhaps would have been extended to more stakeholders if the Formula 1 festivities of this week had not jacked up Singapore’s hotel prices for MFA visitors!
